Organic Oat / Nut Milk Bag
This is a multi-use bag. It can be used to make various vegan milks and cheeses, straining of fruit for juices and jams and to sprout seeds in.
The bag should be cleaned after use by hand and then hung up to dry.
To help you make Oat Milk, here is a basic recipe.
- 1 cup of oats
- 3 cups of filtered water
- Optional extras can be added for taste: Pinch of salt, dates, cinnamon, nutmeg or vanilla (depending on your preference).
Soak the oats in filtered water from 30 mins to 12 hours to soften (depending on how much time you have).
Drain and rinse the oats well (this removes the phytic acid).
Place the oats and 3 new cups of filtered water in a high speed blender for a couple of minutes until they are nicely blended together.
Take your Nut Milk Bag and hold open over a large bowl / jar.
Pour all the oat mixture into your bag and then hold the top together with one hand and squeeze the bag downwards with your other hand so that all the milk is filtered through the bag into your bowl leaving any pulp in the bag. Pulp can be used in smoothies.
Store your oat milk in the fridge for 3 -5 days. Shake well before each use.
