Did you know that most of the plastic in our oceans is actually microfibres which come from us washing our synthetic clothes such as acrylic, polyester and nylon? 😮  I was shocked when I found out about this and now try to buy organic cotton or hemp clothes when possible but it is difficult to always do this.

The Guppyfriend Washing Bag is the first scientifically approved solution to prevent microfibers from entering into rivers and oceans. It results in fewer fibre losses and thus helps your garments last longer. Those microfibers that break during washing are captured inside the bag.

WHY I LOVE THESE:

  • A daily reminder to change our buying habits and washing rituals
  • Stops microplastic pollution entering into rivers / oceans
  • Extends the lifetime of clothes
  • Compostable packaging

Directions for use:

  • Put synthetic textiles into the Guppyfriend (fill up to 2/3)
  • Close the bag and wash as usual (together with any lose textiles)
  • Wash max. at 40 ° C / 104° F/ warm
  • Take out wet textiles after washing
  • Remove the released microfibers from hems inside of Guppyfriend and dispose properly.

Safety:

  • Avoid sharp items
  • Do not iron - the wrinkled surface is not a problem
  • Do not use in a tumble dryer
  • Do not dry in direct sunlight
