Handmade fairly in Vietnam they are an upcycled thing of beauty! The coconut shells that become the bowls are sourced from across Hanoi cities juice bars.
They’re made slow and fair in Vietnam and then they are shipped from Hanoi to the UK by sea freight as part of The Good Dot's commitment to reduce their carbon footprint.
The bowls are natural shell and therefore should be treated like ceramic.
Who makes the bowls?
The bowls are produced in a small factory in Hanoi, Vietnam. The founder employs a lot of women and pays all his staff a good wage. When asked why he isn’t fair trade or the equivalent, he cited that in order for his bowls to be certified the entire supply chain would need to follow suite. And as he forages his bowls from across the city, it isn’t possible to become fair trade.
