How To Use
To use, simply remove the cork from the bottle using a twisting motion. Tap the bottle to dispense a few drops of solution beside the tired Bee.
This keyring contains a unique blend of sugar and purified water solution to help REVIVE exhausted Bees you may encounter on the ground. Please treat this little drink as you as would your own, rinse the bottle and replace the liquid regularly.
TO REFILL: The bottle can be refilled easily at home by half filling with white sugar before topping up with water and shaking for 30 seconds.
If you lose or break the little glass or cork, you can order a replacement from BEEVIVE (see below).
Q. When should I use the keyring?
The purpose of the keyring is for emergency use only. If you have the time, the first port-of-call is to carefully place the bee onto a nearby flower. Should there be no flowers nearby, make sure the little fuzz ball is out of harm’s way and feed it a couple of drops of the sugar water solution from your keyring!
Q. How do I know if a bee is exhausted?
Chances are if you find a bee away from nature and flowers, it is probably knackered! Although bees do rest, just like us! So if you want to be sure, it is advisable to keep an eye on the bee for 30 minutes before attempting to handle or feed it.
Q. Is it suitable for children?
We encourage people of all ages to do their part in helping the bees. However, due to the potentially fragile nature of the bottle and small parts comprising the keyring, we advise adult supervision when using the keyring.
Unsuitable for children under 3 years.
Q. I have lost my bottle/cork. What should I do?
Should you lose or break your first bottle, BEEVIVE will send you out a replacement free of charge as long as you cover the postage. You will need to contact them directly for this.
BEE FACTS & HOW TO HELP:
Bee's pollinate roughly a third of everything we eat!
84% of the crops grown for human consumption (around 400 different types of plants) need Bees and other insects to pollinate them.
The UK has lost nearly 15 species of Bee since the early 1900s. 1 third of the UK's Bee population has disappeared in the last 10 years.
Bees cover vast distances everyday and can quickly become exhausted. If you come across an exhausted Bee give it a hand by placing it on a nearby flower. If that doesn't work or there is no flowers use your BEEVIVE keyring to feed it a little sugar water.
Planting wild nectar rich plants in your garden or other grassy areas is a perfect way to provide food for our Bees.
Approximately 90% of the UK's species of Bees are solitary, we can help them by providing them with shelter. Make and install a Bee hotel in the garden. Make sure it's south facing and at least 1 meter above ground level.
